Maintaining Your Warranty
To uphold your Termicoat warranty, it is highly recommended by the Australian Standards AS3660 that Timber Pest Inspections be conducted annually, or every six months or less in areas prone to high termite activity as stipulated in your certificate of installation. To ensure compliance with warranty terms, this inspection must be carried out within 12 months of either the date of installation or builder's handover date whatever is the latter, conducted by a licensed Endura Coatings pest manager authorized for the inspection.
An annual termite inspection forms the fundamental element of any effective termite management plan. In accordance with the National Construction Code, termite management involves the implementation of integrated pest management strategies (IPM).
It's worth noting that approximately one in five Australian homes falls victim to termite infestations each year. Even if you have lived in your home for a year without any signs of termite activity and have a termite management system in place, termites can still find their way in. They are crafty creatures and can breach a termite management system through various means, such as garden beds, decking installed after the termite system's installation, or even timber stacked against the house. These are just a few examples of how termites can compromise a termite management system.
The Australian Standard 3660 series recommends at least an annual property inspection, with more frequent inspections advised if stipulated in the installation certificate. These inspections entail a comprehensive assessment of your property, both inside and outside, to detect any signs of termite activity. In areas with high termite risk, more frequent inspections are strongly encouraged. Following the inspection, you will receive a detailed written report outlining the findings and any recommended actions.
If you have discovered termites in your home or business, do not disturb them, as you may effective management and the ability to treat them effectively. So, immediately book a termite inspection with your nearest Termicoat® Pest Control outlet so a qualified EPA licensed technician can accurately determine the extent of the infestation, and the steps required.
